Why ya'll so quiet?

Look at all those people having fun in the picture on the bottom! Looks like they are thoroughly enjoying a dope performance, feeding energy to the performers who are probably rocking even harder cuz of the the love they are receiving. Unfortunately, the crowd we rocked to last night at the Living Room in Providence, RI looked more like the picture up top. And not because they were little kids, but because they seemed thoroughly disinterested.

Now, before you start thinking, "here goes some wack MC complaining because the crowd all went to the bar during his boring ass set", understand that the crowd (and it was a CROWD) looked disinterested ALL NIGHT LONG. And they were witnessing some truly hot performers and performances. Don't take my word for it, either, go check out AXE BUTANE for yourself. He performed to crickets and tumbleweeds and he's got SKILLS! Even the PROBLEMADDICTS, who were one of the featured performers and relatively local, got no love from the crowd. Again, they ripped it... to virtual silence!

Maybe "no love" is an overstatement, because, actually, when our set was over, we got maaaaddd love from people who came up to us to compliment us on our performance. What made no sense to me is why they chose to just stand around quietly during the performance if they were enjoying it so much. I know that when I go to a show, I'm there to have a good time and to get amped off the performances. When a dope MC is ENGAGING me and INVITING me to participate, well, that's what I paid my hard earned money for at the door, so, I'm gonna participate. The fact that I'm participating is gonna make the performer work even harder to keep me entertained. So my advice to the people who we met last night is that ya'll should give that a try. You'd be amazed at how much more fun you'll have when you decide to, well, HAVE FUN!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone having a good time at this month's Enter the Cypher at Cousin Larry's in Danbury on the 18th. We are having a DJ Battle and feature performances by the RISING SUN QUEST, WIGSPLITTA and BIG CITY, and 1997.

I had a similar thing happen at a show @ Sacred Heart University. . . same thing did silence but a very attentive audience. . . like I knew they may have been digging it but they sure weren't showing it

Afterword I got a few compliments but still. . . I am rocking there again next week so we shall see if it is any better for me next time

Wow!
Guess you never been to RI before or never did yalls homework on what to expect when visiting...

BTW, where the f*ck were yall 1/2 the night? Aside from when yall showed up tardy, rocked, then bounced before the headliners....

I'm sayin, allow I to correct a few things right quick...not that a large sum of cash could be put up in you knowing who I is by the feel of your "recap"....

The ProblemAddicts are NOT from RI/SE Mass, they are from Western Mass, NorthHampton to be precise....The only reaction they got was alla yall at the front of the stage, which I will praise yall for, b/c yall did stay near the stage for most of the show....
But other than that, the hometown local leprechans do what the do so great in standing still w/ arms folded..try going to Boston to rock, it's far worse!!!! At least we have enjoyable fun nights sometimes, just not right now after 5 weeks of constant shows after shows after shows....

This event was a CD release party for a crew you didn't mention at all in ya recap, which is fine cause it doesn't associate them w/ a snooze fest.

Hip hop this week wasn't very supportive, there were many a show in the last 6 weeks in Providence so there's no wonder why the tail end of said shows was similar to thinning hair.

The thing is, cats like and respect yall, show some back by highlighting anything GOOD that occurred on Saturday by way of some poorly drawn people giving yall a performance opportunity not in Southern CT....

Peace to Rock, that dude is extremely fucking ill. Is that his name like that btw? Puerto Rock in the Phenetiks Crew (see, I do my homework!)...

Cats would love another shot at yalls neck of the woods on some not Good Friday ish, cause ain't no one come home and cry after that night. Maybe even have yall come back here when the timing is better and the weather is warmer.

Sorry you hadda weak experience in the home of the hopeless.

peace and respect.
